Your health and wellness start with the choices you make for your oral care.

Ever considered why you go to the dentist? Most often than not, it is only when your tooth starts aching in the middle of the night and you realise that it’s time to go see your dentist. And god forbid if you don’t have a dentist, you start your frantic search by asking people around you, Google it and read reviews to find the perfect dentist who may be your god-send and take the pain away.

It is time you heard the truth. Why do you think bikes and cars have service milestones? Why do you think parlour appointments happen nearly around the same time every month? Why do regular PTA meetings happen at school? And why do we have monthly review  cycles at the office? We do not wait or skip any of these. And if we do, we know what happens.

Now ask yourself. Do you visit the dentist or the doctor for general check ups on a regular basis? Do you take the kids to visit their dentists and doctors? You know you must. As the age old adage goes, prevention is better than cure. Need we say more.

Our mouth serves as a gateway to our overall well-being, emphasising the significance of maintaining oral health. The condition of our oral hygiene can be a telling indicator of our general health. Here’s a simple self-assessment for you to try: stand in front of a mirror and smile. Observe any stains or cracks as this can be an initial sign of potential issues. Next, open your mouth and tilt your head, first upward and then downward, to inspect for stains behind the teeth and dark spots on the tooth surfaces. This basic examination will provide insight into your current oral hygiene status.

Your well being is in your hands. Literally!

Oral health is as important as general health. Unhygienic dental conditions lead to other health problems and have an impact on overall well being. Here are some quick tips to build into your lifestyle. Remain dentally fit and live well!

1. Brushing

The ideal brushing time should be no more than 2 minutes. The brush should be held in a slanting position, not vertically, and moved gently in a circular motion. Brush your teeth enamel thoroughly. Your tongue and gums should be cleaned softly with a brush, by applying mild pressure.

It is not sufficient to brush just once a day i.e. in the morning. Brushing your teeth just before going to bed, after dinner, is equally important. The most ideal would be to brush after every meal.

2. Flossing

Though we brush thoroughly, we cannot reach certain areas of the mouth. Flossing helps reach gum lines and in between the teeth. You must floss in between the teeth every time you brush. Use fresh floss for every tooth to ensure food articles do not stick from the old floss.

3. Eat healthy

Calcium, Vitamin C and Vitamin D are important for your dental health. For calcium, ensure there is an intake of milk and milk products. For vitamin C, ensure you have rich citrus fruits.

Avoid sticky or sweet food, as much as possible. Also, avoid taking drinks that are too hot or too cold. Eat fruits and vegetables to strengthen teeth.

4. Say no to bad habits

Chewing tobacco and smoking are the worst habits that affect your oral hygiene. Avoid this to reduce the risk of oral problems and, inevitably, oral cancer.

5. Visit your dentist regularly

Like general health, your dental health needs a regular check. Make it a habit to visit your dentist regularly for scaling your teeth. This will keep your dental health in check.

Additionally, it’s important not to wait until you experience tooth pain before visiting your dentist. Be proactive in identifying warning signs such as gum swelling, tooth sensitivity, and gum bleeding, as these can indicate potential dental issues down the road.

Every child deserves a smile. Take a stand towards healthy living!

As parents, it’s our responsibility to tend to our child’s personal hygiene right from the moment they come into this world. Part of this duty involves caring for their dental hygiene and, as they grow, guiding them on how to care for it themselves. Here are some key principles that you should instil in your children:

1. Begin early

For infants, run a clean damp cloth every time they drink milk. Don’t forget to gently clean their tongue as well. This practice should be maintained until your child is ready for regular brushing.

2. Watch out for tooth decay

Tooth decay can affect babies too. Make sure your baby doesn’t fall asleep with a bottle in their mouth, as this can lead to ‘nursing bottle caries,’ which erodes the enamel and impacts their front teeth.

3. Regular dental check-ups – once in 6 months

During their formative years, children should see a dentist regularly. This period is crucial for their dental health, as it can have a significant impact on their overall well-being. Since children may not be able to express their discomfort, schedule regular dental visits. Keep an eye out for any signs of trouble, just as you would during your own dental check-ups.

4. Brush twice a day

The first rule parents should enforce is for their children to brush their teeth twice a day. This routine helps keep dental plaque and tooth decay at bay. Parents should patiently teach their children the proper brushing technique, understanding that manual dexterity may be limited in their early years.

5. Cultivate healthy habits

Children are impressionable and need to be educated about healthy habits. It’s easier when these habits are already part of your family’s lifestyle. Keep an eye on their eating and drinking habits to ensure they develop moderation. Encourage them to drink plenty of water. Patience is key when teaching them these habits. Flossing is another practice that parents should actively promote to their children.

A great smile, an even greater impression.

Look in the mirror…and give yourself a big smile. Are you happy with the smile looking back at you? How much does it matter? Did you know that only half of the people you know are satisfied with their smile?

What does a smile say to people?

Mainly because it’s in a central, very noticeable position of one’s face. It’s also one of our key sources of non-verbal communication. A smile conveys a powerful range of emotion to others, from acceptance, to confidence, to greeting, to happiness. Many experts state that a smile, or lack of one, can make a significant difference in our professional and personal lives.

Do I need to do something about my smile?

An attractive smile helps us look and feel our best. When we look and feel our best, we enjoy everything around us. We enjoy life, a healthy one. That’s the best tip any healthcare expert can give you. Feel your best, most importantly, on the inside.

What can help?

Cosmetic dentistry, a boon in the modern age.

Aesthetic Dentistry is the most popular form of dentistry available today. More individuals, than ever before, are looking to their dentist to improve their smile quotient. Growing global awareness on embarrassing dental imperfections and ugly stains allow leading dentists around the world to render this immensely gratifying service.

Cosmetic Dentistry covers a broad range of dental services. It typically involves Appearance Related Dentistry.

There are many cosmetic options to choose from, depending on what you want to do. Cosmetic dentistry may involve:

    • Straightening of teeth accompanied by improvement in appearance of face – Orthodontics

    • The addition of a dental material to teeth or gums – examples: bonding, porcelain veneers (laminates), crowns (caps), and gum grafts

    • The removal of tooth structure or gums – examples: enameloplasty and gingivectomy

    • Neither adding nor removing dental materials, tooth structure, or gums – examples: teeth whitening (bleaching), gum depigmentation

What to expect?

It is important to be realistic. Dentists who specialise in cosmetic procedures are enhancers. They can manipulate, shape and polish materials in an infinite variety of ways to create smiles that are truly dazzling. What they can’t do is change the shape of your mouth, the colour of your teeth or your overall appearance. In order for tooth restorations to truly look natural, they have to work for you. Cosmetic dentistry can improve your appearance; it won’t completely transform it.

You must discuss the details of your case and understand what your dentist recommends for you. Rest assured, if you are seeing a dentist you trust, you will be able to foresee great results.

Who can help?

We most definitely can! With Maeoris Dental, you are guaranteed the best restoration procedures backed by the latest technology and materials that will help you regain a natural, confident smile.

Any procedure/technique requires an initial investigation to ascertain the conditions of the oral cavity. This will give your dentist a complete diagnosis and ensure that the advice and/or treatment you receive will suit your personal health.

At Maeoris Dental, we pride ourselves for educating our patrons before we perform any procedures. We encourage our patrons to share their complete history and details with our smile experts to ensure they receive the right treatment that suits their condition. Speak to our smile experts today.

Please request our smile experts for a detailed discussion on your dental requirements before committing to any treatment. Do feel free to discuss any requirements at length with us. Serving you is a dear privilege. It is a privilege we take seriously.

Our specialities at Maeoris Dental:

Bleaching

Bleaching is a common and popular chemical process used to whiten discoloured teeth. Some people get their teeth bleached to make stains disappear, while others just want a whiter shade.

Bonding

A tooth-coloured material used to fill in gaps or change the colour of teeth. It lasts several years. This is also  used as a tooth-coloured filling for small cavities. Additionally, it can be used to close spaces between teeth or cover the entire outside surface of a tooth to change its colour and shape.

Crowns

Crowns, also known as caps, cover a tooth to restore it to its normal shape and appearance. Due to their cost, they are used in cases where other procedures will not be effective. Crowns have the longest life expectancy of all cosmetic restorations, but are the most time-consuming.

Veneers

Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain or plastic placed over the front teeth to change the colour or shape of your teeth. Veneers are used on teeth with uneven surfaces or teeth that are chipped, discoloured, oddly shaped, unevenly spaced or crooked.

Gum Contouring

This corrective procedure is the simplest and most dramatic cosmetic procedure in a cosmetic dentist’s armour. It is used to solve gum line problems that occur due to various reasons.

Modern Orthodontics

The advent of innovation in dental care technology has brought about the birth of modern orthodontics with the revolutionary Edgewise and Straight Wire techniques taking centre stage in cosmetic dentistry.

Don’t hide the beauty of your smile, hide the reason.

Your family is a collective. A collective of emotions, of intelligence, of smiles. Look at your last ‘full cheese’ family portrait. Is this a family of complete smiles? Look around you. Smiles keep coming your way. Do you smile back and beam with confidence?

What is the dire truth?

Global change in life styles prove spiralling oral health. With the advent of the modern family comes a new lifestyle. Leading gurus on modem age living predict the root cause of oral health decay is soon going to be equivalent globally.

Is this all natural? Or am I just fretting for nothing?

When the average life expectancy in a country can change to decrease, why can’t its dental health? It is a natural phenomenon. However, it isn’t something we need to ignore or push under the carpet. It is a cause for concern that is growing at a steady pace.

What can help?

The good news is, the advent of modern orthodontic treatments allow you to continue smiling while being treated. Maeoris Dental can show you how. We are on a mission to make the world ‘unFrown’. Speak to our smile experts today.

Modern Orthodontics, shaping the way we smile.

Orthodontics is older than where your history trivia can take you. It is the first speciality of dentistry that concerns itself with improper bites resulting from tooth irregularity, disproportionate jaw relationships, or both. It can focus on dental displacement only, or can deal with the control and modification of facial growth.

With the advent of dental innovation and its leading technology, modern orthodontics brings digital models and new age materials to this reformative procedure. Be it 3D digital models or the invisible braces, modern orthodontics is a force to reckon with. A paradigm shift, in both the thinking and practice, came with the evolution of the technique. Not only did the technique enable custom solutions based on the patient’s case investigation, it also propelled the strive to better the otherwise vanilla practice.

What if we told you that you could treat your smile to the freedom it deserves while you restore it to its true glory? You would laugh at us, wouldn’t you? Well, it is true! You can still laugh with us. Not only that. What if we told you that you did not need to visit your dentist as often during this restoration? Now, that is even more true. However, don’t take our word for it! Look around for information, challenge us, dialogue with us and then, and only then, confirm with us. Once you are certain that the above highlights are true, laugh harder with us.

The hidden agenda, a raving success to look for.

Smile while you are treated, and stay confident.

Reformative procedures command an expert’s undivided attention. Since they are a term process, great care requires precise diagnosis and treatment planning.

At Maeoris, modern orthodontics is a strategy that involves a clear understanding of the characteristics and nature of the deformity, devising a plan that clearly highlights treatment requirements, educating our patrons of the complete process so that they make informed decisions and ensuring that only the best materials, technology and experience is made available throughout the treatment. This is all under the watchful eye of our smile expert whose personal attention to each case is the reason why we are the preferred dentists. At Maeoris, we promise nothing lesser than the best so that our patients stay confident and smile throughout the process.

Important

Dental deformities are not only a cosmetic deformity. They spell trouble for your teeth, jaw and facial formation. Modern orthodontics aims to diagnose and solve these problematic areas. Based on preferences of treatment procedures, several systems, techniques and materials are suggested for such reformative procedures.

An orthodontic treatment is an ongoing treatment prescribed, based on your personal case. Only the highest quality of treatment must be subscribed to, since this is a reformative process.

Another aspect to consider is your age and state of mind throughout the process of this treatment. These important factors must drive your decisions since this is a long-term treatment.

Unmasking smiles with tomorrow’s innovations, today.

Backed by technology and aesthetically enhanced materials, comprehensive modern orthodontic treatments are a key ask from today’s patrons. There are several treatment systems to choose from. Innovations in treatment systems, the materials, and the technology are vital aspects to consider in the choice of treatment:

Procedure & Strategy

Reformative procedures are long term. Since they require constant attention and monitoring of progress, patients must ensure that they are educated throughout the process. Given the patient’s age and duration of treatment, utmost care is required to ensure that the diagnosis must evolve into a strategy that suits the patient. Ask your dentist any question. At Maeoris, we believe ‘No question, is a silly question’. Educating our clients throughout the life cycle of the treatment is a must for successful results and long-lasting relationships. We urge our patients to understand the complete truth about their treatment.

Technology

Reformative procedures need to be precise and accurate. This is supported by the innovations in modern dental technology. Technology that is built to get it right, every time. From diagnosis, through to the preparation and the actual procedure, to the completion of the treatment and post-procedural revisits, technology at Maeoris ensures we provide no less than the best to our patients. But don’t take our word for it. Ask around, or try it.

Materials

Since reformative procedures are long term, materials, besides procedures, must make the patient comfortable throughout the entire treatment cycle. The patient must be able to carry on with their daily lives. At Maeoris, we pride ourselves on aesthetically enhanced materials like invisalign and custom braces that fit your personal case and allow you to confidently go about your daily lives without any interference or embarrassment.

Embracing the Future of Dentistry

Dentistry’s noble mission is to illuminate the world, one radiant smile at a time. In this era of unprecedented technological advancement, dentistry stands at the vanguard of a remarkable transformation geared towards enhancing the patient experience. This metamorphosis places a premium on comfort, accelerated recovery, and minimally invasive procedures. Within the dental community, these innovations are generating palpable excitement, as patients increasingly seek out technologically advanced dental care for an enhanced journey. Let’s delve into the groundbreaking innovations that are reshaping the landscape of dental care:

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

AI has made astounding inroads in the field of dental care, with diverse and impactful applications:

  • Precision Dental Implants: AI assists in precisely determining the optimal positions for dental implants.
  • Orthognathic Surgery: It plays a pivotal role in improving the precision and outcomes of orthognathic surgery.
  • Revolutionising Dentistry: AI enriches dental education by offering novel techniques and tools to aspiring dentists. It facilitates the accessibility of learning human anatomy through immersive 3D visualisations.

Laser Dentistry

Periodontists, renowned for their ability to salvage teeth that others might deem irreparable, have found a powerful ally in dental laser treatments. These treatments offer a multitude of advantages, including:

  • Minimally Invasive: Dental laser treatments are known for their minimally invasive nature, which translates to reduced discomfort for patients.
  • Faster Recovery: Patients experience shorter recovery periods compared to traditional procedures.
  • Minimal Bleeding: Laser techniques minimise bleeding during dental treatments.
  • No Anesthesia: In many cases, anaesthesia can be eliminated, making treatments more accessible and comfortable.
  • Safe for Specific Conditions: Dental laser treatments are particularly safe for individuals with conditions like high blood pressure and diabetes.

Advanced Tooth Repair Procedures

Tooth repair procedures have evolved significantly thanks to improved materials, revolutionising treatment effectiveness and durability. A popular choice is tooth-coloured resin, which creates robust bonds and mimics the natural colour of teeth.

We source our filling materials from Ivoclar Vivadent, a globally renowned company. The tooth-coloured resin used to restore teeth is skillfully cured using advanced wireless LED technology from Dentsply Sirona, the world’s largest manufacturer of professional dental products and technologies. These filling materials possess a unique attribute, releasing fluoride to effectively protect against future decay. Remarkably, the texture and consistency of the filling material precisely mimic that of natural teeth, resulting in a seamlessly natural appearance.

3D Printing and Computer-Aided Design (CAD)

The intricate process of crown preparation has undergone a massive transformation with the integration of computer-assisted design (CAD) and computer-assisted manufacturing (CAM), including 3D printing. This evolution not only expedites procedures but also enhances affordability. 3D printers are now efficiently producing orthodontic models, retainers, surgical guides, and dental equipment. Clear aligners, an aesthetically pleasing and cost-effective alternative to traditional braces, are now a practical and affordable reality for patients.

Intraoral Scanner

A true digital boon to dentistry, the Intraoral Scanner swiftly and precisely captures intraoral impressions. Dentists rely on these impressions for tasks ranging from crown preparation to implant prostheses, orthodontic work, and diagnostics, allowing patients to better understand their oral health and track progress.

Beyond its capabilities in capturing digital impressions, this cutting-edge device offers patients a real-time view inside their mouths right from the treatment chair. This feature significantly enhances overall comfort and facilitates communication between the dentist and the patient.

Regenerative Dentistry

A recent breakthrough in regenerative dentistry allows teeth to heal themselves, reducing the need for invasive procedures. This approach preserves natural tooth structure, promoting long-term oral health. Dentists are increasingly adopting this swift and universally applicable method for natural smile restoration.

Digital X-Rays and 3D Imaging

Digital X-rays represent a monumental advancement, as they can be obtained chairside, eliminating the need for external radiology labs. They offer real-time results and emit no radiation, making them safe for pregnant women and children. Digital records also enable comprehensive tracking of patient history.

3D imaging complements this by providing a detailed view of facial soft tissues and bone structures, revolutionising gum surgery and aiding in precise diagnosis and procedure planning when integrated with CT scans.

Maeoris: Pioneering excellence in Dental Care

At Maeoris, we strive to be at the forefront of dental care technology. We are equipped with state-of-the-art laser treatment tools, including the cutting-edge Whaledent Perfect TCS and Sirona Laser Advanced Version. Within our in-house laboratory, you’ll find advanced instruments like the Intraoral Cerec Scanner and Cerec Milling unit, enabling us to craft crowns, laminates, or veneers in as little as two hours.

The potential for human error or unforeseen measurement mistakes remains significant while relying on moulds to assess a patient’s alignment and occlusion. It could eventually impact the final outcome. That’s why, at Maeoris, we’ve integrated a revolutionary breakthrough in 3D imaging with the Galileo ComfortPlus. By utilising high-resolution 3D images, we achieve comprehensive facial assessments, gaining profound insights into internal structures while eliminating any margin for inaccuracies.

In the ever-evolving realm of dentistry, Maeoris takes the lead, driving innovation to transform smiles and enhance patient experiences, one smile at a time.

The perfect smile with advanced aligners

The rise of invisible orthodontics

The pursuit of the perfect smile has been a timeless endeavor, spanning from the days of ancient Greece to our modern era. Throughout history, this quest has driven remarkable progress in dental science, culminating in the current trend of invisible orthodontics. These aesthetically pleasing and comfortable alternatives to traditional metal braces offer discreet orthodontic solutions, alleviating concerns about appearance during treatment.

Today, the world of invisible orthodontics boasts a diverse array of options catering to various age groups, case complexities, and financial considerations. These options fall into two broad categories: fixed appliances, encompassing ceramic, transparent, and lingual braces, and removable appliances typified by invisible aligners, such as Invisalign.

Fixed Braces vs Aligners : The difference that matters

Fixed appliances closely resemble traditional braces in function while providing the advantage of concealing the treatment process. Ceramic, transparent, and lingual braces fall under this category, each requiring an average treatment duration of around two years. These are tailor-made for orthodontic requirements and serve patrons with varying price points, but they require regular follow-ups with orthodontists. In contrast, invisible aligners, like Invisalign, which are removable, represent a revolutionary leap in invisible orthodontics.

Why choose solutions with clinical technology?

The best invisible aligners currently on the market come from brands such as Invisalign and Spark (Ormco). Utilizing these implants can nearly halve the treatment duration compared to traditional braces. These removable aligners consist of two transparent splints that adapt perfectly to a patient’s teeth, gently exerting pressure to gradually align them. Crafted from cutting-edge biocompatible medical materials, these aligners offer a wholly invisible and painless alternative. They rank as the most comfortable and durable aligners available, with the added benefit of improving oral hygiene since they can be easily removed when needed.

Why Consult an Orthodontist?

Still wondering why consulting an orthodontist is crucial, especially when faster and more cost-effective options seem readily available. The force and direction of pressure applied to each tooth can vary from one person to another, and improper treatment can result in harm to the bones, teeth, and gums, ultimately leading to significant misalignment after the braces are taken off. Aligners without professional oversight can reduce tooth longevity by half and may provide only temporary solutions, resulting in lasting discomfort. Consider the long-lasting harm unprofessional aligners can cause! This also applies to non-branded aligners that lack proper professional standards.

Harnessing latest technologies to bring in perfection

Today’s leading orthodontists offer an array of services, including the ability to visualize post-treatment results within minutes through intraoral 3D scans (e.g., 3 Shape Trios and I Tero). From digital X-Rays to CBCT scans (e.g., Galileos Comfort Plus) for comprehensive assessments and video-enabled scans, patient care has evolved significantly. The availability of advanced technologies empowers patients by providing video simulations of their pre and post-treatment transformations, making the journey to a confident smile more accessible.

If you’re contemplating teeth alignment, don’t delay. Ensure that you make the right choice to get the right treatment. At Maeoris Dental, we prioritize the smiles our patrons deserve, and do our best by leveraging the latest technologies to boost their confidence.
